It's a (Matchbox) Jeep Thing: Part 2

Like the Jeep Willy's 4X4 we reviewed earlier today, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk received it's 3rd iteration in the Jeep 75th Anniversary Set from Matchbox. Also like the Jeep Willy's 4X4, the white re-color for the Jeep Series is the best example of the casting to date. It gets a matte black hood decoration, as well as all the little touches the Jeep Trailhawk casting always gets: Colored Jeep lettering, accurate Trailhawk logo in full color and grille and headlight tampos.

I really enjoy the new Jeep Cherokee casting. I don't drive a Jeep, but whenever I see the new Trailhawk on the roads I find it looks quite sharp. The Matchbox model is no different. It hearkens back to the so-called 'Golden Age', when Matchbox models were all one color with no deco beyond the front and rear necessary detail. The casting is light enough that Matchbox can continue to sell it at a dollar without sacrificing size, scale and proportion. The middle of the casting curves in nicely too, giving the model some depth. The wheel choice leaves nothing to complain about and fits the casting.

Ultimately, the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk hasn't had a bad release yet! All 3 colors are great and it's hard to pick a favorite. The white version gets my nod, though.

Happy Collecting!!
