2016 is the 'Year of the Honda' at Hot Wheels

Honda is in at big blue. Hot Wheels is on a definite Honda/Acura kick lately, and that's a good thing. We have tons of Hot Wheels Fords/VW's/Datsuns but the Hondas have been few and far between. Until now, that is. Sure Hondas catch some flak thanks to the kids who put fart cans on 'em expecting to race Camaros, but many of us use Hondas as our daily drivers for their fuel efficiency and reliability. For that reason, it's nice to see some Hondas in the Hot Wheels lineup.

Hot Wheels isn't pigeon-holing themselves either. We've got Hondas and Acuras (Honda's premium brand) galore from the Honda Monkey mini-bike to the Honda Odyssey mini-van. Cool. How does the Honda/Hot Wheels 2016 love affair stack up? The 'C' case featured a Super Treasure Hunt Acura NSX, which debuted in the 2015 basics. Next we saw the first new-model Honda with the '01 Acura Integra GSX in yellow. It's since been re-colored in white. Then there was the Honda CR-X. Not a new casting, but a modified tooling that got rid of the two piece body that just didn't look right. The CR-X now has a red release and a white release. Then 2 more new Honda castings arrived: The Odyssey Van and the Monkey Mini-Bike. I nearly forgot about the '17 NSX.

Between the NSX (old and new), CRX, Odyssey, Monkey, and Integra, I think it's safe to say this is the Year of the Honda at Hot Wheels. If I've missed any, let me know in the comments below and enjoy the photos!

Happy Collecting!!
