Head-to-Head: Hot Wheels Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and Dodge A100

Take a look at the Hot Wheels Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine. Then take a look at the Hot Wheels Dodge A100. Notice any similarities? No one really knows which real van the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine is based on. Some say it's based on the Chevy Corvair/Greenbriar as some versions of the show featured a rear-engined van. The styling implies a Ford Econoline or a Dodge A100. At least the styling on the Hot Wheels version, anyways. There were different Mystery Machines in the different cartoon versions of the show as well as in the live action film, and there's no clear cut answer to our question.

Since we can't really pinpoint exactly which real van the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine is based on, let's just compare the Hot Wheels Mystery Machine with the Hot Wheels Dodge A100. There are similarities, and yes, there are also differences. But these two vans make a pretty cool pair, don't you think? And if you're accusing me of looking for an excuse to show off my Dubble Bubble Dodge A100 again, I'm guilty as charged. This post is that excuse. I don't think you'll mind too much. Enjoy the photos!

Happy Collecting!!
