Casting Complete: The Hot Wheels 1990 Honda Civic EF!

Just in case you're dying to know what my favorite 'JDM' Hot Wheels casting is, here it is: The 1990 Honda Civic EF. This Ryu Asada gem is pure perfection. The scale is right. The proportions are right. The lines are right. The details are right. All 4 paint schemes are right too. As is the tradition with Hot Wheels, the 2014 New Models got clean, stock-looking decos, while the re-releases in 2015 got a busy, racing look. Luckily for us, 2015 also saw a zamac version.

While I say 'casting complete', I sincerely hope this casting is anything but. At only 4 releases, we need more. How about a Car Culture tooling with Real Riders and a metal base? Or a multipack exclusive? Or even an RLC or Convention level model?

The great thing about the Civic EF is that it looks great stock (the red and teal versions are spot on) and looks equally impressive as a racing or drift car like we saw in 2015. Ryu Asada continues to design some of the best Hot Wheels castings and the '90 Civic EF is no exception. I don't know that there's much more to say about this one. The photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Happy Collecting!!
