You've heard me say it dozens of times. Auto World Ultra Reds are some of the best looking 1/64 scale diecast pieces money can buy. But Auto World is about more than just good looks. With the 7th release of Auto World diecast cars hitting stores in the United States, it's time to take a look back at the Release 2 'Premium' set of 6 cars. We're not just going to look back at the standard issues from Release 2, however. We're going all in and looking at all 6 Ultra Red chase pieces from Release 2. It doesn't get much better than this.
So yeah, the chase pieces are pretty and the Ultra Red flair is there, but Ultra Red or not, Auto World does 3 things better than any other diecast brand out there:
- Scale: Auto World are the only obsessively accurate 1/64 scale diecast cars designed in North America. Period.
- Details: Yeah, sure, M2s might have more separate pieces, but the little touches like hubcap design, detailed engine bays, accurate trim, emblems, license plates and door handles belong to Auto World.
- Quality: I can't stress this enough. In fact, my favorite thing about Auto World is the quality. Nearly every piece is flawless. The same can't be said for Mattel, M2 or even Greenlight.
